Rani was born in Mauritius, the eldest of three children. She left Mauritius in 1978 to study in New Delhi, India. She spent five years there where she earned her B.A. and M.A. degrees in English. She taught English as a second language in Botswana, Africa, for 6 years. There she met Rob Johnson, who also went to teach there from Canada. They got married and Rani came with him to Canada in August of 1989.

As many foreign qualified professionals Rani could not teach here. Rani and her husband were considering leaving Canada to teach elsewhere, when she developed health problems. Her quest for self-care and optimum health led her in the direction of alternative therapies. In the process, she discovered her true self and her calling. Her health issues got resolved and she decided to share with others the amazing benefits these therapies brought to her.

She had found that she was very sensitive to perfume and fragrances in both skin care and household products. In her search for natural alternatives, she discovered essential oils. Thus started another path of learning. She took workshops and courses, then started making her own aroma-blends and aromatherapy products. She had found her passion and her creativity!

Rani has her own line of Si Naturel hand-made creations which include lip balms, moisturizers, lotions, shampoos, and soaps. Rani believes that charity begins at home, so she pampers herself with her own products, especially luxuriating in aromatherapy and green tea baths. She regularly treats herself to massage,Trager and Shiatsu. Then there is her weekly evening of belly dancing with her women friends. Not bad, eh?

Rani is a Registered Aromatherapist (R.A.H.P.), a Certified Reflexologist, Reiki Master, and a Transpersonal Psychotherapist. She has her own practice in Newmarket where she offers treatments and workshops. She believes that life is a movement towards wholeness. That necessarily entails taking care of oneself as a "whole" : body, mind, emotions and spirit. Her practice reflects her belief.
